Let Go and Free Yourself
67Letting Go Sets The Stage
Losing someone or something are two different types of letting go. Letting go is often an involuntary experience. If permitted, involuntary letting go could block progress towards a more satisfying and rewarding life. On, the other hand, the person that is able to let go is subject to receiving more than was lost. Letting go sets the stage for receipt of opportunities never before imagined.
There is an art to letting go. It works in conjunction with the Law of Attraction. The energy that is put into the Universe from letting go sends vibrations which enables the individual to receive more. That is because the individual is not sending out negative energy which blocks positive energy. The positive energy manifests itself into material gifts from the Universe. They are the opportunities and rewards that would have otherwise been lost to negativity.
Surrender Control
People of the Christian faith have a saying, "Let Go and Let God." It means allow God to take control and He will deliver the gifts of His love to the individual. Individuals often surrender control of their lives to God. They trusts Him to guide them in the direction that best benefits their best interest. Letting go is based on the same theory. This type of letting go is for the good of the individual. It enables the person move on to other opportunities waiting to happen in their lives.
Many times people try to manage their lives and when failure results, they feel defeated and disillusioned. Many spend endless hours pondering over reasons the failure occurred. A few of them look at the situation a little differently. They may ask, what was the lesson learned? How can I grow from this experience? These are the people who let go. Because they let go, the failed experience became a stepping stone toward success. They practiced the art of letting go. They detached themselves from the failure and grew from the experience
Great Minds
One of the great minds of our time, Deepak Chopra writes volumes on the act of letting go. He and others gave the act of letting go a name, it is called The Law of Detachment. They refer to it as one of avenues to success. Mr Chopra advocates the way to acquire things is to let go. Sever emotional attachment towards the goal. Don't form a personal or emotional connection to it. At the same time the individual may continue to seek and plan for the goal. But not from an emotional prospective.
Emotional connections create insecurity, anxiety, fear, doubt and other negatives. The Universe wants to bring the positive to the individual. But it can not with emotion. Emotions vibrate negativity throughout the Universe. Letting go without giving up is the key.
Law of Detachment
Living the Law of Detachment is a conscious effort that soon becomes second nature. The emotional connection attached to the goal brings with negatives that block your detachment. You become prisoner to your fears. The following suggestions helps the individual to train the mind to allow detachment to occur. The rewards are gifts fof opportunities from the Universe.
- If you experience failure, don't dwell on it. Learn the lesson and move on.
- When opportunities you were not seeking comes your way, be open to them. Your abundance may be wrapped up in it. Your mind was open and your gift was waiting to be received by you.
- Worry is an emotion. It carries with it negative results. Meditate on the good that comes out of a situation. Create positive out of negative. You will send positive vibrations into the Universe and you will receive positive results.
- Be patient. Nothing happens on your time schedule. It happens when you and the Universe (God) are in alignment.
- Detachment means maintaining your personal perspective. The situation is not deciding your emotional state of being. You are!
A Real Life Example
When people truly detach from the situation, they are letting go and moving to a higher level of consciousness. They are allowing themselves to receive more than they imagined. An example of detachment was demonstrated in my life in 2009.
I had retired and life was looking great. Everything was moving in my favor. When the recession hit me full force in 2008, I was dazed . I did not know how to keep my home, make car payments and pay my other bills too. I had been laid off and half my income was lost. There was no help in sight. I stressed so much in 2008 that I experienced hives for the first time in my life. I could not sleep. My hair turned gray and I quickly gained several pounds of stress weight.
One day in the middle of my negative self pity, a voice said to me, " the very thing you are trying to hold onto is going to kill you." I was shocked to hear that inner voice, but I needed that reality tap on the shoulder. Not long after that I let go of the house and it went into foreclosure. I did not feel sadness. I felt relief. I felt relief because I let go and I let God take care of me.
I moved out of the house and into beautiful new condo. It was roomer than my house and plenty of sunshine comes in. I have great neighbors. The rent is reasonable and I am content with my living arrangements.
The Reward
I am content with the way things worked out. Had I not let go and let God, I would have remained in the house. I would still be in debt over my head. I would not have had money to make the needed repairs and upgrades to the house. I probably would be in poor health and on the way to a premature death.
The Law of Detachment worked perfectly in my life. I was able to release my emotional connection to the house. As a result, I sent positive vibrations into the Universe.I received more house than I previously had. And I gained peace of mind.
Do you feel the Law of Detachment is real? Why?
